David, a high-level manager, asked me to work with him and his company because they had problems communicating in English. They found that they couldn’t express their ideas or give instructions spontaneously. They couldn’t always understand what native English-speakers were saying. He had also been told that his emails were too direct and were even sometimes impolite. He couldn’t understand why his message had failed so badly.
